Vintage Junk in My Trunk: October 2014

The Etsy 90 Project, Listing 295 - 301

Eight weeks until Christmas and I did not list a single holiday item in my shop for this week's Etsy Project 2014 listings. Crazy, huh? My original shop has been a bit neglected, and I just happened to have some sweet treasures that were just begging to be listed, so here they are:

Fabulous vintage PINK Hanson scale. Pink! Perfect for nursery or in your kitchen to accompany the pink Pyrex.

Antique wood plane with the initials "J. K." emblazoned on the side. Maybe Ms. Rowling will purchase. Just Kidding?

Vintage velvety woodland tapestry featuring some deer frolicking. Perfect gift for the man cave or mountain lodge.

Cool yellow toolbox with handle and clasp. The clasp doesn't work -- you can see the catch is missing -- but it's great for storage or display.

I have four sets of these antique sewing machine table drawers in their original frames. Each set has two drawers with handles that slide in and out freely.

Adorable Josef Originals September Doll of the Month figurine. She is in pristine condition -- bright and shiny -- with original sticker and incised mark on bottom.

Mr. VJIMT bought these vintage child's football uniform pieces to hang in the garage his work area, but we saw them selling well on Ebay and decided to give it a whirl. He is "storing it" until it sells.

The Etsy 90 Project, Listing 288 - 294

My original Etsy shop has been feeling kind of neglected lately, so I thought I would try to get a few more items listed there.

This is the first Cathrineholm piece I've ever found in the wild. It's scratched, but still highly collectible and should bring a decent return. I can only find one other Lotus pattern black plate on the internet, and it's listed for nearly $250 (in mint condition).

This sweet little metal airplane has been displayed in our home for a while, and now Mr. VJIMT has put it in the sell pile.

This seed sower was another of his purchases, although intended for re-sale, not display.

Now you knew there'd be Christmas, right? This unsilvered green glass ornament has a bit of tinsel inside, and SOLD!

Like the creepy vintage elves, I'm a little terrified of these rubber-faced Santas.

So of course, I found two in my travels. Away to Etsy you go, scary Santas.

A pair of Noma electrified hurricane candle lamps, in working condition and in their original boxes, and much less scary.

The Etsy 90 Project, Listing 281 - 287

I really hope you're not tired of seeing vintage Christmas listings, because this is only the tip of the iceberg!

This week I listed more mica glittered, stenciled Shiny Brites. Here is one featuring the "Three Wise Men." (SOLD!, but I have two)

A pink "Merry Christmas."

And a blue one, with no mica glitteriness.

Another pink "Merry Christmas", this time with stripes.

A "Silent Night" ornament, like last week, but without any mica glitter, and in a solid red.

A set of four stenciled scenes, including a toy train, some dolls, and holiday candles.

The lone item listed in my original Etsy shop was this 1961 edition of A. A. Milne's "Now We are Six" Winnie the Pooh book, which then promptly SOLD!

The Etsy 90 Project, Listing 274 - 280

While getting ready to list my stash of ornaments in my Christmas Etsy shop, I researched "vintage stencil Shiny Brite" -- I remembered reading somewhere that the stenciled ornaments were worth more than the others. In particular, stenciled nursery rhymes and other phrases, especially "Silent Night," brought in the big bucks.

I posted my findings to my Facebook page. Can you believe these SOLD prices?

I knew I had a "Silent Night" Shiny Brite, mica glittered, pink and aqua. Unfortunately, it wasn't unsilvered, or ombre, like the one that sold on ebay. But definitely a good score for one lone Shiny Brite ornament!

I did have an unsilvered pink ombre Shiny Brite with deer and tree snow scene.

In addition to the Shiny Brites, there are many more ornaments waiting to be listed. Like these flocked and glittered plastic ornaments in their original "Made in Italy" box (SOLD!).

These ornaments are 3D foil trees with metal bells.

I'm not sure if you can categorize this mercury glass bead flower as an ornament, but it's still pretty to look at.

I also listed a few other things in my original Etsy shop. Like this vintage "Black Tulip" Pyrex casserole dish. This pattern was a one-time holiday promotional item in 1957.

Another Pyrex listed -- the Pink Daisy casserole, which subsequently SOLD! on a Facebook auction site.

And finally, an anniversary edition of a Slovak-American cook book -- the second one I've listed (the first one SOLD!).

The Etsy 90 Project, Listing 267 - 273

Well now, this is just crazy -- here we are in the final quarter of the Etsy 90 Project of 2014! How did that happen? It sure doesn't seem like I've listed another 270 consecutive items!

{It's actually more than 270 items, because sometimes I put one new item in each shop and sometimes I would list more than one item if they were similar. That's in addition to the 365 items I listed in my original Etsy shop during the Etsy Project of 2013, and the additional 100+ items in my Christmas shop that same year.}

So I should probably be saying I've listed at least one item consecutively for the last 270 days (plus 365 consecutive days from 2013) for a total of 635 consecutive days of listing. Are you still following? You didn't know there was going to be math in this post did you?

Anyway, here we are. The last quarter of the 2014 Etsy Project. 270 down, 90(ish) to go.

Here's the week: Mostly Christmas again. German mercury glass swan with tinsel cradle wrap. Another item seen sold on Ebay for a lot more than this one is listed.

German tinsel wire -- just the top part of a glass ornament that didn't survive the years.

Stems of pink mercury glass beads.

Sweet pink corsage made up of foil leaves and mercury glass feather tree ornaments

Shiny Brite blue galaxy, moon, and star Christmas ornament glittered with mica -- this one's another big seller on Ebay.

And one last non-Christmas item, but photographed in a Christmas-y way -- vintage Edgemont cracker tin with hinged lid.

The Etsy 90 Project, Listing 260 - 266

It was all Christmas and Halloween for this week in The Etsy 90 Project! These Christmas items were purchased during our Bouckville Adventure this year. Which I will eventually get to blogging about! Promise!

First up are these delightful Christmas bird bulbs. The one in the middle is plastic; the two on either end are glass.

I'm not sure what creature the first bulb is -- a dog? A coyote? The second is definitely a snowman, albeit with paint loss.

Clear glass bulbs -- this lot of 5 consists of four swirl designs of various colors, and a green pine cone.

Another lot of three glass figural bulbs; these are florals.

This is pretty -- a Victorian-era pink teardrop shape wrapped in tinsel with mercury glass beads attached.

And now on to the Halloween! This giant vintage Beistle spider is listed on Etsy for nearly 3 digits. Mine has some condition issues, but it's another item I'm wondering should go on Ebay as an auction. I think it's kind of cute.
