Saturday's Fall Festival didn't start out too well for me. The weather report was calling for a brisk 35 degrees (brr!) at 7am. The event is only about 5 minutes from my house, so I was in no hurry to get there and freeze while waiting for customers.
Unfortunately, I didn't even wake up until 8am -- guess I was really not looking forward to that cold air! Fortunately, our cars were already packed and ready to go, and we arrived in town by 8:30.
BUT, I only had my space number, and no idea of my location. Last year I was on a side street, so that's where we headed. Both ends were blocked off so we couldn't get through. After driving back and forth and around and around for a half hour, we finally were able to get on the street and unload.
Oh, and en route I realized I had forgotten my tent at home! Doh!
By now it was 9am and I had one hour to set up the tables, unwrap and display 60+ pedestal plates (here's a sampling)…
… move vintage stadium seats (from a church? or a school? or a movie theater?)…
(these were on my Facebook page, but I don't think I ever posted about them)
… and set up mirrors, chalkboard trays and frames, typewriters, suitcases, cupboards, toolboxes, globes, doorknob bottle stoppers, rockers, paintings… (see individual shots here.)
Whew.
Did I mention I had a few more things to tag too? And that Mr. VJIMT was long gone to scope out the neighborhood yard sales?
I managed to finish up everything by 10:30, and by then it had warmed up to 50°. Not having a tent was actually a blessing in disguise, as it allowed me access to bright sunny skies and the warmth of the sun.
Here are some shots of my space -- with my iphone; my camera battery was, of course, dead, even though I had checked it the night before!
It actually turned to to be a gorgeous day, plus I sold some junk! Who could ask for anything more?
I am so behind in my blog reading!!! Everything looks great, and I really love that plate mosaic.

Looks like a great display and a lot of work! Yeah, what sucks out all the camera battery juice when our backs are turned? I need to buy stock in a battery company!

I was in your shoes this weekend! Wanted to arrive at sunrise, but instead 9am, to set up. It was a bit chilly, but warmed to 70F. Great day and lots of great junk sold! Love hearing stories from other people and it makes you think, "wow, that sounds just like me."
