On Wednesday I was reminiscing about a church rummage sale I had been to last year. I was thinking it was around this month, and hoping I hadn't missed it.
I took a look at Craig's List and lo and behold, there was the ad -- for Thursday at 6pm! Whew!
A couple of friends came with me to shop (and even pick for me!) so that added to the festivities.
Fortunately, I remembered to take a couple of bags in with me, and good thing, because I was just tossing stuff left and right into them. With most items under a dollar, I wasn't even hesitating.
Like this vintage silver and red thermos.
And this Dickinson College pennant/banner.
And this large vintage Christmas table linen.
And this velvety-soft vintage Christmas stocking, a few plastic reindeer, and a pair of Santa napkin rings.
And this blue and red copy of Pilgrim's Progress from 1893.
But that's not all! I quickly grabbed this 1950s English pottery tea set without even checking for condition. It appeared ok at first glance, so I just (carefully) threw it in my bag (cushioned by the table linen).
The fox head spouts were really the deciding factor. And the lid with the riding hat knob. And the condition was perfect, by the way!
My photographer friend Sue found this painting and thought the frame would be good for making a chalkboard. I agreed, and barely looked at the painting itself or its subject matter. Mr. VJIMT thought it would be a good seller on its own, so I'll be taking the whole thing to the show I'm doing later this month.
My pals were really aghast when I picked up this Lady Schick Consolette hair dryer, circa 1960s! But it is in great condition, and um, aqua! Who could resist?
Can't you see it as a prop for a vintage-themed photo session? Or on a movie set featuring a 1960s beauty salon?
Wow!! Love the hair dryer!!

Once again, you find amazing items! I have bookmarked your page because I love to see the items you find. I think the Pilgrims Progress is my favorite find that you made. The thermos is not bad at all and actually looks like new. I love finding unique and old things. I currently am liquidating an estate that belongs to an old German family. I am coming across fantastic items daily as I did through their estate. Keep the pics coming!

Wow, it's a good thing you remembered it! You found some great stuff! I'm especially partial to the aqua colored hair dryer. And you're right, it would totally fit in on a 60's style movie set.
