So we did manage to get a little junking in this weekend. On Friday there was an estate sale just blocks away. Mr. VJIMT was able to stop by with me in the morning; a good thing too, because I heard him gasp from the other side of the basement when he found a whole box of these:

You know I've always loved glass doorknobs, but even more so now that we've been making these wine bottle stoppers out of them (and finally listed them in my Etsy shop!). Reuse, restore, recycle! Feels good that these sparkly beauties are getting some much deserved love.

Do you like our drying rack? LOL. It's like a vintage Santa's workshop in here.

Mr. VJIMT found this Dr. Scholl's foot measuring device at an odd indoor flea market on Saturday and used his vintage ingenuity to use it as a picture frame. We'll switch out the picture for a family photo at some point. Sorry for the grainy photo; it's hanging in a dark corner of the room and I am lazy and just using my iphone.

Also found this upstairs at the estate sale. No price on it, but what a score!

Leo thanks everyone who tried to bribe him with the tomato pie and Mallo Cups. Fortunately, it didn't have to come down to that, as I found the random number generator site. Nicholas proceeded to ramble on and on as to how he read that random.org was a great site, the randomness is totally random, x = y (squared) times the hypotenuse of 126 equals the velocity of the speed of light, blah blah blah... what? Oh, wait, I think I fell asleep there for a minute or 90. Sorry, Sheldon Nick, you were saying? (By the way, that trophy he is holding was won for the highest math score in the state, not for an athletic achievement. In case you were wondering. And I'm not bragging. If I told you the skill level was two grades above his own, THEN I would be bragging.)

I am recuperating from the big scrapbooking weekend with the girls and will have photos and stories later today. See you in a bit!

Magazine Madness and a Giveaway!

It's here, it's here, it's really here! 

Most of us vintage/antiquey types have been waiting for MONTHS for this first issue of Flea Market Style magazine to make its debut. For the last couple of weeks it's been promised to be delivered to a Barnes & Noble near you. I have searched and searched and have not been able to find it anywhere! Rumors of it being spotted at Walmart, Target, CVS -- all vicious lies!

For those of you new to this world, the vintage and crafty blogs have all been in a tizzy about where the magazine is, how they can find it, who has it... The frenzy has developed because quite a few of the old standby mags for folks like us have shuttered their doors in the past year or so. There have even been numerous giveaways and offers from those lucky enough to have found it to share it with those who have not.

A friend in a neighboring STATE finally found it last night for me and since we are conveniently meeting for a scrapbooking weekend (more on this later), I should at long last have it in my stubby little hands on Saturday!
