Basically, she set up a free online classified listing for her readers of things she loves. Outside sellers (like me) offer their wares -- ironstone, vintage textiles, grain sacks, scales, typewriters, leather bound books, cow paintings and furniture -- which her readers can then purchase.
I think it's a pretty great idea, as the items are moderated (so no discount mattresses or Nascar memorabilia) and approved for her audience. If you follow MMS, and like the things she buys and owns and blogs about, then you are sure to like a lot of the items for sale.
My first two listings were brown transferware that had been languishing in my Etsy shop for months; they sold within a day on the MSP site.
My listings this week are all ironstone and transferware, so that I could also list them on the Mustard Seed Pages -- like this gorgeous antique Flow Blue plate.
And this pretty pink Johnson Brothers transferware, in a couple of different sizes.
I think this small ironstone tray with colorful transferware florals may have been the bottom of a butter dish. What do you think?
This small square brown transferware plate sold about 10 seconds after I listed it on Etsy. My MSP listing hadn't even gotten approved yet!
As did the entire set of gorgeous Mulberry transferware I found on Saturday. It's black flow on a creamy background. I had to keep one (chipped) plate and handleless cup for myself!
