We've been spending our Thursday mornings at the flea market. It's a little easier to do in the summer when school is out, but I'm going to try to continue in the fall. It will be a little later in the morning, but I think it will still be worth it.
I reallyreallyreally wanted this little aqua shelf thingy, but, sadly, it was NFS. Waaa!
Mr. VJIMT was scared when he saw these legs sticking out of the back seat.
As well he should be -- what a (delightfully) frightening collection! But they are perfect for Halloween, less than 90 days away. I listed the arms and legs last week.
We may be keeping the baby heads, though. Remember this one?
He was also not amused when he saw me pull this treasure out of the car. I think it's pretty spectacular, though.
The chippy frame, the gorgeous aqua and amethyst colors, and the crinkled texture were singing to me. I'll bring it to Clover Market in September if it lasts that long on Etsy.
I also found this pretty turquoise scale -- and later discovered that most of what I thought was rust was actually just dirt. I usually prefer my scales rusty and crusty, but this will do.
Some more old books in (mostly holiday) colors.
Mr. VJIMT did even better than I. He found this very cool cast iron dog bowl advertising -- the sides say "Drink, Puppy, Drink".
He also picked up another vintage oil portrait, to add to our collection.
And a nice old blue Pepsi-Cola cooler. My drink of choice. When there's no vodka around.
And a wood scraper.
All in all, a pretty good day and much better than recent yard sale Saturdays. I think I could get used to this.
