So it's September -- which usually means prime yard sale season on this side of the coast -- but I just haven't been feeling it yet. There HAS been a lot of rain (with more to come this weekend, blech) so maybe that's the problem. I'm still waiting for that one big vintage hoarder sale. Ahhhh…
Which is not to say that I haven't gone to ANY yard sales. Just that the vintage stuff has been harder to find amidst the baby clothes and kid toys.
So what DID I find? Yeah, more Shiny Brites. The Mister loves when I bring these home.
And a men's grooming kit in a leather pouch with all its pieces. The seller told me it was from the 1940s, but maybe 1960s is more like it. Although the plastic does look like celluloid.
A cute little metal bowl with cutouts and lovely vertigris.
Another school desk. Are we collecting these?
A few issues of House & Garden from the 1930s and 1940s…
…with some fabulous images inside.
More to show you soon… once the rain stops!
I came home with 2 vintage silver canister sets last month and I wasn't even trying. I came across the first set, Revere ware, I'd never noticed before but since I use those pans and it was cheap, I said 'why not'. Then my sister gave me our Granma's old canister set. How could I turn that down?! Really, sometimes the collecting is not our fault!
Congratulations on being number one, can't wait to see it in print!
Susanne.

Oh my I'm in LOVE with that school desk. I used to have one like that when I was a child. Such a pretty thing.
