Yesterday there was an estate sale advertised in the paper. A REAL estate sale. A REAL estate sale conveniently located directly across the street from my house! Mr. VJIMT heads over last night as they are setting up and asks “When can we get in?” The guy answers “Now, if you want…” Do we want? Hell, yeah!
Sadly, not much of interest for us, but I did get this adorable little gray bookshelf. It's very narrow, and hopefully will fit somewhere.
Only one other yard sale worth mentioning. Got these nice old children's books — after I spent all day Thursday sorting through my destined-for-Etsy vintage books and chastising myself for buying so many vintage books.
But there are two by A. A. Milne, written just before and after the Winnie the Pooh series. The 38th poem in “When We Were Very Young” is titled “Teddy Bear”, and features the first appearance of You Know Who.
To make the morning complete, my neighbor Colleen came over with some highly-addictive homemade... bacon jam! It was amazing. The smell is intoxicating -- yummy smoky goodness. I don't know which recipe she used, but this one looks good. I'm gonna have to try it myself!
