So I was up at the crack of dawn on Saturday so I could get in a few yard sales before Sophia's tball game at 9AM. I hit a GREAT one very close by. They were still unpacking boxes when I got there. Look at all this amazing stuff I got!!
Girlie stuff -- vintage Avon perfume and lotion bottles, yellow amber Federal Glass candlestick, bunch of celluloid shoe button hooks, nail file, and vanity travel mirror. Love this little food dye bottle too.
Ecstatic when someone put down this brown Staffordshire plate in perfect condition. Love.
Two cool old books. The Hereford Cow compilation from 1917 is a hoot.
Look at the detailed inscriptions and illustrations inside -- a true labor of love!
More girlie stuff -- a couple of cool fans -- one is a filigreed wood -- and a sparkly sequined purse.
Pink linen tablecloth with floral design.
Fancy embroidered linen centerpiece.
Red and yellow $10 tulip quilt!
But this was the best part -- they were still opening boxes as I was leaving to get to the tball game, so after it was over, I headed right back and got some more treasures!
Vintage shaver and blades, lovely green glass transformer, another bowl and dish, beautifully tarnished silverware, long crystals and diamond-shaped crystals...
A box of vintage marbles. I was talked into this purchase.
A bunch of vintage cabinet cards. Some of the poses are cracking me up.
Like this guy (I think it is the same guy) posing in his suit and hat on the rocks! And the marsh! Colleen could probably come up with some hysterical captions for these!
This one already has an hysterical caption! Sorry for the blurry, but written in pencil at the bottom it says: "Perfectly harmless". That's what you think!
Other stuff from another sale. Uniquely-shaped decanter with embossed pattern, nice handled porcelain bowl, milkglass candlesticks...yadda yadda yadda. I wonder if that first sale has anything else squirreled away?
Wow, what a great sale. You found wonderful treasures!!
